2. Make the Custard Cream
In a non-stick saucepan, whisk together the sugar and egg yolks until pale and smooth.
Gradually pour in the milk while whisking continuously.
Add the flour and mix until completely smooth with no lumps.
Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly.
Continue cooking for 6 to 10 minutes, or until the mixture thickens to a rich pudding-like consistency.
Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract if using.
Allow the custard to cool to room temperature before assembling the dessert.
3. Assemble the Napoleon in a Glass
Place about 2 tablespoons of toasted crumbs in the bottom of each serving glass.
Add approximately 2 tablespoons of custard cream over the crumbs.
Repeat the layers until the glass is full, finishing with a layer of crumbs on top.
Depending on the size of your glasses, you can create three to four beautiful layers.
After layering comes the magic moment: chilling. This resting time allows the flavors to blend and the texture to become irresistibly creamy.
