Air fryers have become a popular kitchen appliance because they can produce crispy food with less oil. However, there are some common foods that are not really suitable for this appliance.
Here is a list of foods that may not be suitable for air frying and reasons why it is better to avoid them.
1. Fresh Cheese
Mozzarella, ricotta, and other fresh cheeses can make a big mess in the air fryer. Unless you coat them with breadcrumbs or other coating, they tend to melt completely and form a cheesy paste that’s hard to remove.
2. Breaded foods
Breaded foods, such as onion rings or breaded fish, don’t necessarily cook well in hot oil in the oven. Without hot oil, the batter tends to slide off them, making the food soft and unappetizing.
3. Grains and dry cereals
Foods like rice, quinoa, or dry cereals won’t cook properly in an air fryer because they need water or broth to soften. Even if you use them already cooked, they may dry out or not be as crispy as you expect…
