4. Fresh herbs
Fresh herbs such as parsley, basil or coriander can burn quickly due to the strong hot air flow. If you want to season your food with fresh herbs, it is better to add them at the end of cooking so that they do not turn black and lose their flavour.
5. Unwrapped Bread
If you want to toast in a toaster, keep in mind that the results may not be ideal. The bread can dry out quickly and become too hard, especially if it is not coated with butter or other ingredients that retain moisture.
6. Popcorn
While it may seem like a good idea, popcorn kernels may not pop properly in an air fryer. The appliance may not provide the consistent temperature needed to pop them, so the kernels may not pop enough or burn.
7. Leafy Greens
Spinach, Swiss chard, and other leafy greens can quickly dry out and burn in an air fryer. These types of vegetables generally require a gentler, more even cooking process.
8. Large or very thick steaks
An air fryer can cook certain types of meat well, but large or very thick steaks can have trouble cooking evenly. The surface can be too dry or overcooked before the inside reaches the desired temperature.
